Thierry (result history) has raised the standard of french orienteering - and from being an unimportant orienteering nation some years ago, the french team is now one of the favourites for the WOC gold medal. In last years WOC relay in Japan, Jørgen Rostrup just managed to beat Thierry in the last part of the relay after following in his footsteps most of the way.
