In addition, non-amateur mappers should ensure that their house insurance contains a clause covering the use of equipment for business use in the home (which will also cover survey equipment used in the field). The map group will be negotiating with the British Orienteering insurers through the National office to see if we can obtain an agreement that will provide a group cover, at least for mappers with a modest annual turnover.
