Orienteers scoop sports awards!
The South Yorkshire Sport Awards took place last night at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. The awards celebrate the very best of sporting excellence and endeavour in South Yorkshire. Two orienteers were nominated for awards and I am pleased to say that neither of them were disappointed!

Class Programme Manager Hilary Bloor was nominated for the Everyday Sports Hero. Hilary is a highly committed orienteer, fell runner, climber and mountain biker. She regular competes for South Yorkshire Orienteers and Dark Peak Fell Runners. She has been selected for the England team on many occasions and has won several British Orienteering Titles and local fell races. Since being diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease (lymph cancer) in 1995, Hilary has done many running/biking races and challenges. She recently discovered Challenge Cancer through Adventure through her local fell running club Dark Peak Fell Runners and realised this was the charity for…
