The 2009 outdoor season has obviously not started according to plans, as I have started two 10000m races and finished one, in 29’50”. This has been mentally tough on me as I have been having good workouts all along, but cannot put it together in a race. I have failed…

to go with the pack that is going my goal pace and I don’t quite know why my body has refused to co-operate. The only joy I have been getting out of my races is the fact that all of my teammates are kicking ass on the track. This spring I have specifically focused on track racing and have trained accordingly. So is the problem mental? Have I been putting too much thought into these races?
