Today we held a highly successful event in Kiryat Ata Forest, and the highlight from my point of view was the orienteering in the ruins of Usha. I made an especially detailed map of this small area last year, and in this race all the courses (short, long and family)…

entered the ruins before finishing, switching from a 1:15,000 scale map to 1:3,000 (both maps were printed on the same page).I spent most of the morning with a camera in the midst of the action (results here), and the phrase running around like headless chickens certainly came to my mind, though not all of the time. The general impression was that everyone enjoyed the special terrain.Here is the map with all three courses through the ruins (the distance between north lines is 100m):And a picture of the central part of the area:
