was up close to the front of the pack, surrounded by Kenyans. I felt like running in Africa, as the air was filled with dust and we ran through a savannah with the sun high up in the sky. By the 3k mark I had taken the lead as we came through a forested downhill segment, but by this time I had teammate David McNeill and a bunch of Oklahoma State runners also right on my tail.
