o título europeu de juniores de Sprint, conquistado em 2007, em Eger (Hungria).As previsões meteorológicas não são particularmente animadoras, pelo menos no que aos primeiros dias de provas deste JWOC 2008 diz respeito. Tempo encoberto, chuva fraca ou chuvisco e temperaturas a rondar os 15ºC é o que espera os cerca de 250 concorrentes. A prova de Sprint terá lugar em Ruddalen, uma zona de recreio dotada dum grande número de instalações desportivas, a 4 km do Centro do Evento. O terreno é um misto de zona rural, parque e floresta.
