There is just one week to go as of today for entries to the Waitangi Summer Carnival for 2008. The carnival is in its third year, and after having 300 unique competitors last year it looks well on track to surpass that for the 2008 edition. 2008 sees the event…

feature a 4-stage test match between Australia and New Zealands finest elite orienteers, as well as the trial races for the Junior World Orientering Champs team for NZ amongst other things. Very importantly for international competitors the event features two World Ranking Events. 2008 sees the event being a small roadtrip, starting in Taupo for 2 days before heading up to Hamilton for 3 and ending in Auckland for the final 4 days. This ensures competitors will experience great terrain from all over the top of the North Island, as well as great variability in the types of terrain encountered.…
