Controls are now out in Loch Vaa West for Septemberâs Map of the Month. The area has been affected by forest fires (no jokes about crispy capercaillie please!) so vegetation is slightly different from what youâd expect.

benches⦠Youâll notice that fire has altered the low vegetation in a couple of parts, so the mapped âopenâ bits arenât obvious. Also look out for the wildlife - ticks are numerous and seem very hungry, and several homicidal spiders have set their tough traps at nose/mouth level. Park at NH936179. The pack now comes with a pre-printed map so you donât even have to copy down the controls!
