Knarston brilliant in long distance
Greta Knarston (Counties Manukau) has had a very strong performance at the JWOC long distance to place 16th, earning herself her second top-20 result in just as many days.Backing up from her 19th performance yesterday in the sprint distance, Knarston found herself caught up by 2 minutes on the course…

by Alena Trapeznikova from Russia. These two formed a strong combination out in the granite terrain and stormed through the rest of the course together. Knarston got away near the end, coming in for an early placing of 3rd, with much of the field still to run.Much of the interest in the girls field was on Australian Vanessa Round, who had a lead early on in the race. Round was favoured to do well in the granite terrain, which proved to be a good bet. Round ended up placing sixth, for her first ever podium place at a JWOC.Kate Morrison…
