Come da programma questoggi ho partecipato alla prima edizione del Gran Premio del Monteserra, gara organizzata dalla Pisamarathon e fortemente voluta dai famigliari delle vittime per ricordare attraverso una festa sportiva la tragedia che esattamente trentanni si è consumata sul Monte Serra: il giorno 3 marzo 1977 alle ore 15.05…

un Hercules C-130 della 46° Brigata Aerea decollava dall’aeroporto San Giusto di Pisa per un volo di ambientamento con a bordo 38 Allievi della I° Classe del Corso Normale dell’Accademia Navale, il loro Ufficiale accompagnatore e 5 membri dell’equipaggio. Si schiantava pochi minuti dopo il decollo in località Prato a Ceragiola, nei pressi del Monte Serra: non c’erano superstiti. Quel giorno, la strada che da Calci porta al luogo del disastro fu percorsa fino all’alba dai mezzi di soccorso impegnati nel recupero dei Caduti, in un ambiente che i soccorritori definirono straziante. La gara è stata vinta dal forte atleta…
