Orienteering Varsity Match 2007
On 17th February, the orienteering Varsity Match between Cambridge and Oxford Universities took place in Wharncliffe Wood (Sheffield), organised by DrongO, the ex-Cambridge University orienteers club.
The individual Varsity titles were won by Helen Gardner (Oxford/West Anglia

time of the four fastest runners of the six-strong team, was won by Cambridge (Alan Elder, Ben Stevens, Chris Williamson, Alex Copley) in 308:35 minutes over Oxfords 327:06 (Joe Mercer, Chris Millard, Ian Webb, Benjamin Grandey). The womens team trophy, based on the total time of the three fastest runners of the five-strong team, was won by a very tight margin of 4 seconds (!) by the Oxford ladies (Helen Gardner, Ruth Holmes, Ekaterina Orekhova) in 222:34 minutes over Cambridges 222:38 (Elspeth Ingleby, Anya Crocker, Rosemary Dyer).
