Israeli team for WOC 2006
The Israeli team was selected in the middle of May, and consists of 5 runners. Israel's main goal this year is to get a runner in one of the finals for the first time ever. ResultsYou can see the results from this years Israeli Chamionships here. The race was won by Pavel Gvozdev (result history), who is also in the WOC team. He has also the highest ranking on the WRE ranking with a 252nd position.
Orienteering in Israel
When it is snowing in Europe it is time for orienteering in Israel.
There are more than 80 events all through the main season (September till May),
ranging from World ranking events to national and local foot-o, park orienteering
and MBO.
There is a large variety of terrains - from classical forests and Mediterranean woods to sand dunes and deserts. Most of the events are within a range of 100 km from Tel-Aviv.
