Czech Republic team for WOC 2006

The Czech team for WOC 2006 is strong as always. The best Czech runner now is probably Dana Brozkova, who has a 4th place from WOC 2004 as her best result. In addition, she has won several Park World Tour races. Michal Smola and Tomáš Dlabaja are the best male runners - at least based on the Czech Team Trials, where these two runners dominated.

Low budget
As is the case for many of the other participating WOC teams, the Czech Team has a low budget. At Eva Jurenikovas homepage, you can read about their WOC training camp in Denmark:

Since our national team has quite limited budget we stayed at this rather simple accommodation. We slept on a floor, all in one room and we cooked our meals together. And I think we all liked it, perhaps more than staying in an expensive hotel.

Relay hopes
Both the relay teams are also fighting for medals on a good day. The Czech women relay managed a 5th place in Japan in 2005, whereas the men´s team ended on a 9th place. Both Dana Brozkova (result history) and Petr Losman (result history) are good relay runner, which they have proved for their swedish teams Domnarvets GoIF and SNO several timer. Dana came in second at the first leg in the 2004 Venla relay, whereas Petr took SNO to the victory at the last leg at Tiomila 2005 - after following Tore Sandvik most of the way.
