Australian team for WOC 2006

The WOC team presentations here at World of O start today with Australia. The rising star in the Australian WOC team is Hanny Allston, who just makes some impressive performances in the JWOC in Lithuania, with one gold and one silver thus far. The best male runner in the Australian team is probably Troy de Haas, who managed a 7th place in the sprint in WOC 2005 in Aichi, Japan.

Gold, silver and bronze
She is still a junior - and already participating in her 3rd WOC in Denmark. Even more impressive: She managed a 6th place in the hard long-distance in WOC 2005 in Japan, and has already collected one gold medal (long 2006), one silver medal (sprint 2006) and one bronze medal (middle 2005) in JWOC. Her name is Hanny Allston (result history) - this is a girl for the future, remember her name! Living in Tasmania, she has not the best orienteering training possibilities, but nevertheless manages to give the best a fight!

BJ to GB
Australia will miss one of their best runners the recent years in the coming WOC - sprint specialist David Brickhill-Jones. Before the 2006 season he changed country from Australia to Great Britain, and will thus compete for Great Britain in Denmark.

Another Australian sprinter
Australia has brought along more than one good sprinter, though. In the Australian WOC team is Troy de Haas (result history), who has a 7th place from the WOC sprint in Aichi, Japan 2005. He has also a 5th place in the NOC sprint in 2003 in Sweden and a 4th place from EOC middle in Hungary 2002.
