Gonon wins European Vertical Championships
Former French national team member Francois Gonon won the European Vertical Championships in Chamonix last week with a new course record â finishing the course with 1000 meter climb in 34:07.

France in Italy last year â and was on the French WOC relay winning team in 2011. Gonon is still present in the international orienteering scene; last autumn the French orienteer started coaching the Swiss national team â and this autumn he was part of IFK Göteborgâs winning 10Mila team. Gonon clearly still puts in some hours of training. Gonon won 41 seconds ahead of Norwegian mountain runners Stian Hovind-Angermund and Thorbjørn Ludvigsen.
