Uttakningskomitéen for pre-o grenen hadde egentlig en lett oppgave å ta ut seks utøvere - tre i åpen klasse og tre i paralympic-klassen - til VM i presisjonsorientering i Ungarn i midten av august. Bei den ersten beiden Selektionsläufen für die OL-Weltmeisterschaften vom 18. bis 23. August in Miskolc (Ungarn) schwangen die beiden Favorien Simone Niggli-Luder und Daniel Hubmann obenaus. Die beiden Weltmeister gewannen sowohl den Sprint im «Schuelwald» bei Langenthal, als auch den zweiten Sprint im «Lööliwald» bei Herzogenbuchsee.

NZ OSquad: Learning about JWOC

There is a great article by Lucie Babel on Ultimate Orienteering detailing the basics of JWOC. Great to see our team mentioned positively in two ways. First of all as 1 of only 13 countries to send a full team! And second more positive comments on their blog and this time from a credible international source. Austrian O-Federation: Hitzeschlacht bei Weltcup in Norwegen

Bei traumhaft schönem Wetter und für Norwegen hochsommerlichen Temperaturen gingen die Weltcupbewerbe 3 und 4 im Raum Oslo über die Bühne. Österreichs Team bestand aus Felix Breitschädel (ASKÖ Henndorf) und Gernot Kerschbaumer (HSV Pinkafeld).

The summervacation in Belgium started a few days ago, so a lot of local orienteers made plans to run some international o-competitions. Most of the Belgian non-junior athletes will run the 3 days of Belgium next weekend. In men\s elite class 33 runners have registered, among them the best Belgian runners and some foreigners. De fleste har vel f�tt med seg den rekord-spennende World-Cupen hvor Carl W. Kaas gikk til topps f�rste dag, mens Martin Johansen sikret seg sin f�rste WC-seier p� jaktstarten. - Vi haddde en artig teambuilding i og ved et 25 meter h�yt klatret�rn i Mysen sentrum. Der fikk mange pusha sine egne grenser.
